PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Give your pickup a stronger rear presence with this fishbone-style pickup tailgate light bar. It adds brake, running, turn-signal, reverse, and hazard lighting across the tailgate, with 48-inch and 60-inch lengths plus Plug & Play or Hardwire connection options.

Why You Will Like It

  • Adds a distinctive fishbone LED pattern for a sharper pickup rear profile.
  • Supports brake light, running light, left turn signal, right turn signal, reverse light, and double-flash hazard effects.
  • Choose 122 cm / 48 inches or 152 cm / 60 inches to match your tailgate mounting space.
  • Select the 4-Pin Plug & Play version or the Wire Hardwire version based on your preferred installation method.
  • Adhesive mounting keeps the light bar cleanly positioned across the tailgate.

Built for Pickup Rear Styling

The red and amber LED layout gives your truck a stronger rear lighting signature without hiding the original tail lights. It works well for daily driving, work trucks, road trips, off-road builds, and nighttime pickup styling.

Measure Before You Choose

Pick 48 inches for shorter tailgate spaces and 60 inches when your truck has a wider rear mounting path. Measure the flat area below or across the tailgate before ordering, and make sure the strip will not block the handle, camera, license plate, trailer hitch, or factory lights.

Installation & Power

Measure First

  • Measure the tailgate mounting path before choosing 48 inches or 60 inches. Make sure the strip will not block the tailgate handle, backup camera, license plate, hitch, or factory lights.

Choose Your Connection Version

  • Plug & Play Version: Uses the 4-pin connector for quicker installation on many standard vehicle setups. Compatibility can vary by truck wiring and trailer detection systems, so perform the Red Wire Compatibility Test before final installation.
  • Hardwire Version: Connects directly to the vehicle wiring and is the recommended choice for high-risk trucks or vehicles with separate brake and turn-signal wiring. Follow the included wiring guide and have the installation checked if you are not comfortable with vehicle wiring.

Red Wire Compatibility Test

  • Connect all wires, including the red wire, and test every light function before securing the strip.
  • If hyper-flash, constant illumination, warning messages, or other abnormal behavior occurs, disconnect the red wire and test again.
  • If the system works normally without the red wire, leave the red wire disconnected.

Wiring Connections

  • For the hardwire setup, connect red to brake lights, blue to ground, white to running lights, yellow to the left turn signal, and green to the right turn signal.
  • Use the selected version's included connector or wiring leads and do not splice into unknown wires. Keep connections protected from water and heat.

Function Test

  • Test brake, running light, left turn signal, right turn signal, and double-flash hazard functions before finalizing cable routing.

Surface Prep and Use Notes

  • Clean and dry the mounting area before installing. Peel the adhesive backing only when you are ready to place the strip, then press firmly along the full length.
  • Keep wiring away from moving tailgate parts, sharp edges, exhaust heat, and areas where water can collect.
FAQ

Which length should I choose?

Choose 122 cm / 48 inches for shorter tailgate spaces and 152 cm / 60 inches for wider rear mounting paths. Measure your truck before ordering so the strip fits cleanly.

How do I choose between the Hardwire and Plug & Play versions?

Choose Plug & Play for quicker installation on many standard vehicle setups. Choose Hardwire for broader compatibility, high-risk trucks, or vehicles with separate brake and turn-signal wiring. Perform the Red Wire Compatibility Test before final installation.

What is the Red Wire Compatibility Test?

Connect all wires, including the red wire, and test the light functions. If you see hyper-flash, constant illumination, warning messages, or other abnormal behavior, disconnect the red wire and test again. If the system works normally without it, leave the red wire disconnected.

Which trucks are more likely to have Plug & Play compatibility issues?

The Plug & Play version may have compatibility issues on some Ford F-150 models from 2018 or newer, Ford F-150 Lightning, Chevy Silverado models from 2019 or newer, GMC Sierra models from 2019 or newer, and some Ford Ranger models. These vehicles may use advanced trailer detection or separate brake and turn-signal wiring. The Hardwire Version is recommended for these situations.

Why can newer trucks have compatibility issues?

Some newer trucks use advanced trailer detection systems. When the light strip is powered through the trailer socket, the vehicle may detect it as a trailer and trigger warnings or affect driver-assistance features. Some trucks also use separate brake and turn-signal wiring, while standard Plug & Play setups may use combined brake and turn signals.

What should I do if the Plug & Play version does not work correctly?

First perform the Red Wire Compatibility Test and confirm the ground, running-light, brake, and turn-signal connections. If abnormal behavior continues, the plug can be cut and the light wired directly to the vehicle circuits. For high-risk vehicles, use the Hardwire Version instead.

Which wire connects to each function on the Hardwire Version?

Follow the included guide: red to brake lights, blue to ground, white to running lights, yellow to the left turn signal, and green to the right turn signal. Test every function before securing the wiring.

What should I check if the light does not turn on or behaves abnormally?

Confirm that the vehicle uses 12V DC, the black or ground connection is secure, and all wiring connections are correct. Perform the Red Wire Compatibility Test before finalizing the installation. For Plug & Play setups, check whether your truck is one of the higher-risk models listed above.

Why do the turn signals flash rapidly or stay on constantly?

Rapid blinking or constant illumination can result from a signal-detection mismatch or crossed wires. Recheck the wiring, perform the Red Wire Compatibility Test, and consider the Hardwire Version for high-risk vehicles. Resistors may be needed in some vehicle setups.

What lighting functions does it support?

It supports brake light, running light, left turn signal, right turn signal, and double-flash hazard light effects.

Is this only for pickup trucks?

It is designed mainly for pickup tailgates, but it can fit many trucks, SUVs, RVs, vans, and trailers if the mounting path and wiring setup are suitable.

Can I install it myself?

You can install it if you are comfortable cleaning the mounting surface, applying the adhesive strip, and connecting vehicle lighting wires. If you are unsure, have the installation checked by a qualified installer.

Is it waterproof?

The product is built with a waterproof design for rear exterior use, but you should still keep connectors protected and avoid routing wires where water can sit.
